I started watching YouTube regularly between 2011 and 2012 I believe, although I can’t quite remember the exact timeline. The first videos I really got into were beauty related; I was completely obsessed with watching makeup tutorials. After that, I started getting into ‘let’s play’ videos. I don’t know why, but it was so fun watching other people play video games. From there, I started watching a variety of different videos (cooking and baking, daily vlogs, etc.). I didn’t even know you could subscribe to people when I started using YouTube as a source of entertainment. I just kept looking the videos up that I wanted to watch.
Part of me even felt inspired to create a YouTube channel of my own but I couldn’t bring myself to do it. I think it was due to a mixture of being too lazy to start a channel and also being overwhelmed with having to choose what I would even talk about. I know myself too well to know that I would probably want to have at least five different channels dedicated to their own niche. Maybe I’ll start a channel in the future, but for now I’ll continue to enjoy watching the people I’m subscribed to.
It wasn’t until recently that I started getting into ‘BookTube’ and ‘AuthorTube’. After watching these videos I became motivated to start my writing journey, and if you’d like to know more about that then check out the “My Writing Journey” tab in the main menu.
